Doesn't this look like an enchanting place to wake up and greet the day? Aspen leaf tiles grace the foot of this handcrafted bed, which is shared by two lucky Californians. One of the pair is the woodworker who created this gorgeous bed, and aspen leaves are a recurring theme in their home. Here is a close up of the tiles at the foot of the bed: A few years back, they created a gorgeous custom staircase that also featured 2x2 inch aspen leaf tiles that I made. You can see that installation here: https://emutile.com/blogs/handmade-tile/aspen-leaf-stairway It is an honor and...

These photos came from a woman who discovered a passion for woodworking in retirement. All three of these pieces look like heirlooms to me. So honored she chose to make my tiles part of them! (She asked to remain anonymous since she doesn't sell any of her work.) Thank you so much, H. for sharing these photos!

This is one of my favorite times of year. The blossoms are blooming, the leaves are budding, and indigenous gallery is having their annual artTILE extravaganza!! It is a huge honor for me to be a part of this invitational show.  (They even put a picture of some of my tiny tiles on the back of the postcard!) If you have never been to indigenous gallery, you are missing out. I have been fortunate to be a part of every one of the previous artTILE shows, and they just keep getting better every year. There couldn't be a more perfect...

Yesterday the post office was closed, but that didn't stop us from making a tile delivery. Darrell and I took advantage of the nice weather to drive these three boxes of tiles to Ginko Gallery in Oberlin, OH. This packing job would not have been adequate for the mail, but it worked just fine for us yesterday. We have a tradition of delivering tiles to Ginko Gallery in person whenever possible. It is the first gallery ever to carry my work, so we have been going there for over a decade. We try to visit at least once a year....

photo courtesy of HoldenArb.org Looking for a unique holiday shopping experience? If you live in northeast Ohio, consider visiting the Holden Arboretum during their annual holiday gift show and sale, "Gifts from the Heart of Nature," which runs from November 14th until January 3rd. (When we switched to our current website, some lovely installation pictures never made it over from the old version of EmuTile.com. I am going to attempt to re- post all of those "lost" installations, starting with this one. Please note, this particular installation features "Northern Lights" glaze which has since been discontinued.) E.A.  sent me these gorgeous pictures of her hearth.  She ordered two of my 3"x3" Fleur tiles in Northern Lights glaze, and installed them herself.  She found the field tiles on Craigslist and got them for a song; they were left over from someone else's installation. What a lucky find! They really complete the...

I can hardly believe it is that time of year already! The Holden Arboretum in Kirtland, OH is gearing up for their annual holiday art sale/ fundraiser, "Gifts From the Heart of Nature," and I am pleased that my work will be included again this year. Darrell and I delivered several boxes of tiles on Sunday afternoon, and while we were there I picked up the above pretty postcard for the event: As always- many talented artists have work in the show! Here are a few of the tiles I submitted for the show this year: The show runs from  Saturday, Nov. 15 through Sunday, Jan. 4,...
