This is the hearth my husband Darrell and I put in our 1920 home. 
                                                 
 
 
 
The field tiles are 6"x6" pieces of natural slate.
 
 
 
 
The handmade accent tiles are 4 "x4" "Fleur" tiles in Autum glaze.
 
 
 
 
The edge tiles are handmade, as well.
