artTILE 2015

I love the idea of being an "artist in action." That's me!

This is the 6th year that I have had the pleasure of participating in indigenous gallery's annual artTILE extravaganza in Cincinnati, Ohio. It has been a huge honor for me to have my work shown alongside some of the best handmade tile art in the US. Darrell and I drove down over the weekend and we were truly blown away by the quality and diversity of work. As a featured artist, I spent Saturday at the gallery, demonstrating my sculpting technique, meeting new people, and catching up with some of my Cincinnati friends and family. It was a fantastic weekend.

Throughout the day, I worked on re-sculpting my butterfly design in the 4"x4" size. Previously it was only available in the 2"x2" size (you can see some 2"x2"s on the left.) This week I will put the finishing touches on the larger one, and make a mold of it.

At the moment, indigenous gallery has the largest selection of my tiles available anywhere! The display goes on and on..

The gallery is located in the O'Bryonville neighborhood which is very walkable, and filled with small, independent shops and restaurants. It is a great place to spend a sunny afternoon. The show runs now until June 14th, and the gallery is open seven days a week. If you love tiles, it is totally worth a visit. Don't miss out!
