How To Order
Thank you so much for your patience and support of my one-woman operation. I’m grateful for every order! To keep up with demand while maintaining quality, I’m switching to an ordering window system:
-
Ordering windows will open approximately every 6-8 weeks.
-
During these times, you can place orders directly through my website. The window will stay open until I reach my production capacity.
-
Once I reach my production capacity, the window will close until the next round.
-
Most orders will ship within 4–6 weeks after being placed.
-
Glaze samples are in stock and ready to ship anytime for those planning ahead.
Want to know when the next ordering window opens?
Contact me to join my email list to be notified as soon as dates are announced.
Thank you, as always, for supporting my one-woman art business. Your home is a sacred space, and it’s truly an honor to create something meaningful for you. I take my work seriously and want to be as transparent as possible about my capabilities as I navigate this new phase of both my life and my work.
Warmly,
Emily
Why I’m Using Ordering Windows (and Why I Can’t Take Late Orders)
In recent years, demand for my handmade tiles has grown, and I needed a way to keep things sustainable as a one-woman studio.
The best solution I’ve found so far is to use ordering windows, which open for a limited time and close once I reach my production capacity. This system allows me to:
-
Focus on one batch of work at a time
-
Avoid long waitlists and unclear timelines
-
Communicate realistic expectations for everyone
-
Preserve my energy for the creative process (and life outside of it!)
Can I still place an order after the window closes?
In most cases, I’m afraid not. Once an order window closes, I shift into production mode and no longer accept new projects until the next opening. Even small or “easy” orders can add up quickly, and honoring the boundaries I’ve set helps me stay on track and deliver what I’ve promised to others.
I want the process to be fair for everyone, and sticking to the same rules for all helps me do that.
Are there exceptions?
Very occasionally. I’ve learned that even small last-minute orders can overwhelm my schedule—so in general, once the order window closes, I’m not able to take on additional work.
That said, I have made rare exceptions in situations where:
-
A returning customer needs a few extra tiles to complete a previous order or installation, and I can reasonably fit it into my schedule.
-
We’ve already been in active conversation about a project, and I’ve agreed to hold a spot due to some extenuating circumstances
These are truly case-by-case decisions, based on timing, scope, and what I realistically have capacity for. I do my best to make thoughtful choices that support both my schedule and the integrity of my work.
If I’m unable to accommodate a request, it’s not personal—it just means I’m doing my best to stick to a sustainable pace and serve everyone well.
If I missed the window, what should I do?
Please don’t worry! A new window opens every 6-8 weeks, and I always share dates on Instagram and via my mailing list. Contact me to join my mailing list if you haven’t already!
Why can’t I just send you an email and pay via invoice?
Great question! I used to take a lot of orders this way, but over time it became unsustainable. Invoicing takes a surprising amount of time (and introduces room for error), especially when managing dozens of individual projects.
Using the ordering window system means my website now handles the bulk of the process, so I can spend less time on admin and more time making tiles.
I appreciate your understanding—and your patience.
Truly.
With gratitude,
Emily
