I just have to share this incredible project by a very talented woodworker in New York state! W.S. built this stunning oak mantle and installed the tiles himself, and I’m completely in awe of how it all came together.
W.S. chose feature tiles from my catalog that have a special meaning for him. These tiles are glazed in "spearmint," a soft and versatile green. To go with them, he picked "glossy jade" field tiles from Mineral Tiles, and I can barely believe how perfectly the two brands of tiles blend together—it’s truly a match made in heaven!
One of the most impressive details is how the colors work together. W.S. used terracotta-colored grout, which ties in beautifully with the amber shellac on the oak mantle. It’s such a thoughtful touch that brings the whole look together.
I can’t get over the level of skill and care W.S. put into this project. The mantle is a true work of art, and the combination of wood and tile creates a space that feels warm, inviting, and personal. Seeing my tiles used in projects like this is one of the best parts of my job—it’s so rewarding! Here are some more close up shots of the details:
Big thanks to W.S. for sharing your masterpiece with me. You’ve created something truly special, and I absolutely love it! 🥰
