2019 has been busy so far. I have been making lots of tiles and getting lots of special requests, both for new designs, and for resized versions of my existing designs. Usually when I am busy I say no to these types of requests because it takes quite a bit of time to sculpt a design and pour a new mold, but this year I am trying to push myself to say "yes" more often, because it makes my customers happy, and is good for the business when I expand my line. It is not always possible, but when I can find the time to do it, I never regret it. That is why I said yes to resizing my "White Pine" design into the two inch size:
The freshly sculpted tile is shown above. The original was destroyed in the mold making process, but that is not a problem because I can use the new mold to make hundreds of replicas of the original:
I also said yes to another customer who wanted both my left and right facing dog designs in the 3"x3" size (they were previously available in 4"x4" and 2"x2".)
The dogs were quicker to sculpt than the white pine, since they have fewer fine details. Here they are, right before being covered with plaster to make a mold:
The originals were removed after the mold set up:
Here is some of the first batch of freshly pressed 3"x3" dog tiles, drying in the studio:
And here are the tiles, finished in "honey" glaze:

All of these tiles above have been added to the online store. Here are links:

I am also currently in the process of re-sizing 7 of my sea life designs into the 3"x3" size (the are available for pre-order now in both the 3"x3" and sea life collections.)
Next up: a beaver! After that, I might need to take a break from sculpting for a little while so I can focus fully on production. Still, if you have a request, don't hesitate to let me know. I can't promise to say yes, but I always enjoy hearing your ideas. I get a lot of inspiration from my creative and interesting customers!
