A Cross-Country Art Exchange Inspired by the Moon

One of the most rewarding parts of being an artist is connecting with other creators whose work inspires me. That’s why I’m over the moon (pun intended!) to share this special story of an art exchange with the incredibly talented Sylvie Abecassis. Sylvie is one of my absolute favorite artists, so it’s a dream come true that she chose my moon tiles to be part of her bathroom.

Here are the moon tiles in their new home, and seeing them installed in her beautiful space truly makes my heart sing.

What’s even more special is that Sylvie and I seem to share a love of lunar themes. My own bathroom features a piece of her artwork as its centerpiece—a ceramic sculpture and mini diorama depicting a tiny fawn beneath the moon and stars. It’s pure magic, and one of my most treasured possessions.

Art trades like this are a testament to the deep connections we can form through creativity. While Sylvie lives across the country, our mutual admiration for each other’s work has bridged the distance. Every time I look at her sculpture, it fills me with joy and reminds me of the beauty of collaboration and shared artistic vision.

Sylvie, thank you so much for trading with me. Your art will always hold a special place in my home and my heart. It’s an honor to have my tiles in your space, and I will treasure your work for as long as I live. 🌙
