Tile Ideas for Bathroom
Tree Tiles in the Tree City
It is Thanksgiving week, and I am going to post as many customer photos as possible since I am very, very grateful for all of my customers. Especially those who take the time to send pictures of their installations! This bathroom is located right here in Kent, Ohio, in the home of a friend and fellow artist. A row of 6x6 inch tree tiles in leaf green and watercolor blue glazes creates a striking, colorful focal point over each of the two sinks in this otherwise minimalist bathroom. The limited color palette everywhere else helps the tiles to stand out....
Traveling Tiles
In May of 2021, I shipped a set of tiles to Wyoming so they could be installed in a kitchen there. In April of 2023, I got an email from the person who ordered them, explaining that they had to move unexpectedly but they brought the tiles along so they could install them in their new bathroom in Minnesota! Here is the completed project: From the homeowner: "I’ve had so many compliments. Just wanted you to know your work is appreciated and admired. And that I’m enjoying seeing the tiles every day." What a luxurious place to bathe! I am...
New Home, Same Tiles
As I have mentioned before, occasionally a customer will install my tiles in their home, then move, then order more tiles to install in their new home. As you can imagine, this makes me very happy! This client previously installed my tiles in her bathroom years ago. Recently, when she moved from Oregon to California, she decided to order more tiles from me. This time around, she went with a slightly different mix of designs and glazes and had them installed in her kitchen, as well as both her bathrooms! For the kitchen she selected the "birds on a branch"...
A picturesque powder room and a charming kitchen
A tiny washroom and spacious kitchen were both thoughtfully refreshed as part of the renovation of this "Craftsman- Victorian" house that was built in Virginia at the turn of the last century. Both rooms kept their historical character while becoming more fun and functional. The addition of bead board and a tiled backsplash enliven the diminutive water closet and provide moisture protection for the walls. I love the energizing hue of the deep gold wainscoting and how it picks up on the color of the cattail tiles over the classic wall mounted sink. The homeowner sweetly commented, "Who ever thought...
A warmer and richer bathroom
The owner of this bathroom originally wanted the tiles to be glazed in white, but then switched to autumn instead after talking to a friend. I think she made the right decision! The autumn glaze really shines alongside these counters and woodwork. They all have similar variegation which makes everything pleasingly harmonious. Counters are "fired steel" by Wilsonart. close up of the tiles before they left the studio These installation pictures appeared in my inbox within 24 hours of receiving another set of pictures of a very similar installation that used white glaze instead. That bathroom looked better with white, this one...
A Lighter and Brighter Bathroom
In honor of the new year and the fact that the days are now getting a little bit lighter, I am sharing these luminous bathroom photos. According to the homeowners, the previous décor was rather dark so they wanted to brighten things up, and that is exactly what they did! White glaze was selected for the tiles to match the counters and cabinets. A row of four by four inch tiles is capped by a row of one by six inch ribbon tiles. The tiles are installed over both of the two matching sinks. They add a little bit of subtle variation...
A Honey of a Home
It always warms my heart when someone uses my tiles in more than one room in their home, so this set of installation photos makes me very happy indeed. The homeowners decided to use my tiles in not just one, but two of their bathrooms! A mixture of glass tiles and handmade tiles in honey and autumn glazes surround the sinks in both bathrooms: This lovely home is in the Pacific Northwest, so they selected tiles that represent the native flora and fauna of that region. (It is so fun when customers include their cat in photos!) The built in...
A Forest Green Shower
Oh, how I love customer installation photos! Pictures of this lovely shower just arrived in my inbox and I couldn't be more pleased. The homeowner mixed some of my 2"×2" feature tiles in leaf green glaze with tiles from other manufacturers. Not sure who made the subway tiles, but the green glass tiles are Merola "forest." Love how the stripe of feature tiles is right at eye level! I wanted to call this set of photos "emerald bath" because the band of green reminds me of an emerald necklace, but the colors are closer to forest green than emerald. Whatever you...
