A Vintage Kitchen in San Fransisco

I'm continuing my week of gratitude by sharing this delightful, authentic vintage kitchen (circa 1939) that has been modified slightly to include my tiles. This kitchen is located in beautiful San Fransisco, CA, near where I was born. Even though I haven't been back to the Bay Area for many years, it makes me happy to know that my tiles are installed there. It feels like a part of me is still there and always will be.

This kitchen has already stood the test of time and I am honored that my tiles are now a part of it.

The field tiles were slightly larger than the handmade ones, so the installer cleverly cut tiny 1/8" tiles to fill the extra space. This creates a little frame for each of the art tiles which sets them off nicely.

It is wonderful to be able to preserve history, while also bringing something new to the story of the home.

This blending of new and old is very much to my liking. (As is that lovely Chicago Faucet!) Thank you so much. T.P., for seeking out handmade tiles for your home, and for taking the time to share photos! I hope you enjoy your kitchen for many happy, healthy years to come.
