Aspen Leaf Stairway

The tiles in this installation shipped several years ago. I remember this specific order because I thought the tiles came out so nicely that I took a picture and had it printed on promotional postcards which I send out with other tile orders. Since I see the picture of these tiles frequently, I often wondered where they ended up. My curiosity was satisfied last night when these remarkable pictures arrived in my inbox.

The homeowners designed and built this staircase themselves, with help from Community Builders of Cedarville, Ca.

They also installed tiles on the risers! The lighter colored field tiles were handmade by Heath Ceramics.

The aspen motif is a reoccurring design theme in and around this home, and these stairs are now a major focal point. The aspen leaf tiles were cleverly randomized to create the illusion of leaves blowing down the stairs. It takes an uncommon level of attention to detail to make a project like this come together so flawlessly. I am truly honored that my tiles get to be part of this unique and beautifully crafted stairway. Thank you so much, J.F., for seeking out my tiles for your home and for taking the time to share pictures of the results!
