Ceramic Art Tile

This delightful installation of 3"x3" Mayfly tiles in "Leaf Green" glaze is located in the United Kingdom.  Mayflies have special significance for this family, so they decided to pay homage to them with their back splash design. They asymmetrical layout of the art tiles implies that the mayflies are in flight. My customers are such creative and interesting people! Sorting through my email archives, I came across photos of two charming and unique projects that I had not shared here yet. The first one is by K.P. She framed one of my four inch "Tree of Life" tiles in a frame of reclaimed wood. Some of the wood is painted, some is left natural. I love the little paintings on the square pieces of wood, especially the little tree on the orange background to the upper left. So sweet! The next project was completed by J.B. Even though I absolutely adore my job, maybe I should try to take time off more than once every 3 and a half years. I am starting to think that there is some truth to the idea that taking vacation can actually improve productivity.   I finished sending out the last of my Summer 2016 orders out yesterday at 4:30, officially beginning my longest closure ever. (When we switched to our current website, some lovely installation pictures never made it over from the old version of EmuTile.com. I am going to attempt to re- post all of those "lost" installations, starting with this one. Please note, this particular installation features "Northern Lights" glaze which has since been discontinued.)
