We are on Instagram

I am always hesitant to embrace any new social media platform. Fortunately for me, I have a husband who bravely signs us up and then turns the accounts over to me. (Thanks, Darrell!) That is why we have an Emu Tile facebook and twitter account, both of which I tend to update at least a couple of times a month. However, when he made me an Instagram account nearly four and a half years ago, I didn't see the value in it. I didn't have a smart phone at the time, just a tablet, so it wasn't that easy to update. I basically forgot the account existed until a few weeks ago, when I suddenly started posting pictures to it like mad. Why the change of heart?

For one thing, I have a smart(ish) phone now. It has a tiny screen and not the best camera, but the Instagram app runs fine on it. It now takes very little time for me to snap a picture of whatever I am working on and post it to Instagram. Which leads me to the real reason I have decided to start using Instagram so much: in the last few years I have noticed that whenever I am interested in a business, I always find myself checking to see if they have an Instagram. Why? Because it is so quick and easy to update, it often has "behind the scenes" pictures of what goes on in their day to day operations, and I find that interesting. Maybe you do, too? If so, I want you to be able to see a glimpse of how the tiles get made! On most days, I am going to take a picture of whatever I am working on, and post it to Instagram. The pictures may be low res, and the lighting may not be perfect, but I hope that will be the charm of it.
